High Quality Feeds From Beautiful North Wales.
As horse and pony owners and enthusiasts, we were inspired by a need to find feeds that were right for our own herds.
In a market flooded with options, we couldn’t seem to find one that was right for us, and found that many other owners felt the same, so we decided to do something about it!
We produce quality, forage based, species appropriate horse feed.
Our range of feeds are equine specific, designed to suit every equine need.
We do not use any by-products or fillers, and none of our ingredients are chemically processed.
The company founders are passionate about making good, species appropriate, forage based feeds.
Both have a long history of keeping barefoot horses and making sure the feed was hoof-friendly was really important to them.
Nia Cooke MSc
Nia trained as an Equine Podiatrist in 2011, qualifying with a Diploma through the Equine Podiatry Training Company in 2013. It was during this work that Nia's obsession with feeding and nutrition began. She noticed a strong link between hoof health and diet, and how even minor dietary changes could have a huge effect on the hooves, either good or bad!
Nia then undertook a BTEC L5 Professional Diploma in Equine Nutrition and her practice moved from podiatry to nutrition. She was hungry for more knowlege, so then undertook a degree at Aberystwyth University, qualifying with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Equine and Veterinary Bioscience in 2019.
Most recently, Nia completed a MSc in Animal Nutrition at Glasgow University, focussing on equine and pet nutrition. Her dissertation project at Glasgow explored the use of Plants for Gastrointestinal Health and Gastric Ulcers in Horses
Nia's study of herbal medicine focuses mainly on Ayurvedic uses.
Emma Daniels MEP
From being the little girl who always had a carrot in her pocket for the ponies she passed on the way home from school, and an avid reader of any book that included at least one horse (Looking at you Sheila Lavelle and The Strawberry Jam Pony), Em never outgrew her love of all things equine.
With a varied work history that meanders from being an actual circus performer and winds up eventually as a high school teacher, and qualifications that include BA(Hons) in English Literature, A PGCE in English and Drama, and a Masters in Educational Practice, Em now combines her flair for education with her passion for horses and plants.
Em's current studies are focussed on Native herbs and their historical and contemporary medicinal and nutritional uses.
